Hello,

I started this blog just for the hell of it after reading a few blogs from fellow cyclist friends of mine. Their blogs got me interested in what I might have to say and how often I might say it. These posts will not be strictly about cycling, that was just a title for the blog that came to mind as I was filling out the necessary info......I might change it later. Some of my interests that might get written about on this blog are in no particular order....Cycling, Photography, Food, Working Out ( as opposed to cycling), movies, & trips that I have taken or might take in the future.
Thanks for checking in. If I write something you don't agree with, that's okay. These are my thoughts, not yours.

Day One

I just created this site and did not intend on having much to write about. I started this tonite after reading some of the posts by a fellow cyclist (Steve Patchin) and it got me interested in just how this process works.
Just a few notes about me. I am an overworked, underpaid, overweight everyday citizen who has, and is, experiencing many of the financial and employment downfalls that have beset many others in our country. Some days are tougher than others. Sometimes it's just a struggle to get through these days (that sounds a lot darker than it was meant). Thankfully there are friends and family out there that make it easier. Sometimes we just need to talk to friends that have been thru some of the same things that I am experiencing to realize that it will be okay.....eventually.
I was trying to get my workouts back in order so that at least something was going the way that I want it to but this week I have been stricken by the cold bug and have had to take a few days off to get better. Unfortunately being sick does not stop me from wanting to eat, it only stops me from going to the gym or getting on the trainer.
I want to get more consistent with my workouts and cycling so that next year I can enjoy some of the longer planned rides and runs that happen in Las Vegas. I also would like to take a few trips to enjoy some longer rides in other areas of the country.....the one that most comes to mind is "The Road To The Sun" in Glacier National Park, Montana. It's not a particularly long ride (50 miles) but it is in a beautiful place and has some serious climbing. Let's see if I get to these places this year...either way I am going to continue to train as though I was going to get there and see where the chips fall.
