Hello,

I started this blog just for the hell of it after reading a few blogs from fellow cyclist friends of mine. Their blogs got me interested in what I might have to say and how often I might say it. These posts will not be strictly about cycling, that was just a title for the blog that came to mind as I was filling out the necessary info......I might change it later. Some of my interests that might get written about on this blog are in no particular order....Cycling, Photography, Food, Working Out ( as opposed to cycling), movies, & trips that I have taken or might take in the future.
Thanks for checking in. If I write something you don't agree with, that's okay. These are my thoughts, not yours.

Thoughts on Christmas Eve 2010

I have got off at 8pm, went to the grocery story (I will explain later), and went to the neighborhood bar and had three tall guiness drafts. These were the thoughts that came to mind

 I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU

The annual 24hrs of "The Christmas Story" is on TBS. Remember when "A Wonderful Life" was the christmas favorite every year. I love them both. Kinda makes me want a "Red Rider 200 Round Range Model Air Rifle". If I get one I hope I don't shoot my eye out.

REMARKABLE FUDGE

Without a doubt my mom made the best fudge ever. The recipe is from Better Homes & Garden. It is called "Remarkable Fudge". It is far less milky than any other fudge I have ever had.  We once measured it and found that a 13x9 dish had about 12,000 calories of pure sugar goodness. I have made this most every year since about 1989 when I moved out of my parents house.

Had  to come back to this post. I forgot the favorite reason that I love making fudge.....licking the bowl. I remember doing this every time my mom made fudge, and I still love doing it to this day. I don't care if I give away every piece of the finished fudge but I have to clean out the pan it was cooked in.

I once made my fudge in a teflon pan (word to the wise, don't do that). After I poured all of the fudge into the dish there was nothing left in the pan. Talk about disappointment. That just wouldn't work. I went to the store and bought more ingredients and immediately made another batch in an aluminum pan. I had about 8 pounds of fudge around the house when I got done. Needless to say I gave away a lot of that fudge.

I even once made birthday cakes with candles out of this fudge for three friends of mine. Actually 2 were b'day presents and one was a gift to a woman I liked a lot then and still care a lot about now.

I had something else to write about but that thought left my mind and I have been unable to retrieve it.

Merry Christmas to all.

I remembered that thought that got away from me. Uncle Buck, one of the best movies ever. John Candy at his best.  I watch this movie whenever it is on the tube. Have seen parts of it north of 50 times and it is still awesome
